About the Role
As a Technology Specialist – WINTEL Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering Windows (Wintel) engineering solutions and advisory services. You’ll be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of Windows-based systems supporting Defence and Government clients, either onsite or in a back-of-office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, upgrade, manage, and maintain Microsoft Windows Servers and workstations
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Microsoft Exchange, and DHCP
  • Lead complex migration projects, including VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V transitions
  • Troubleshoot advanced virtualised environment issues
  • Manage virtual machines using VMware vSphere and vCenter
  • Maintain system security through patching, updates, and monitoring
  • Perform system performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams
  • Support proprietary classified Defence software across Protected, Secret, and Coalition environments
  • Provide IT Helpdesk support (up to L2), including encryption devices and IP security
About You
  • Australian citizen (mandatory for Defence projects)
  • Minimum AGSVA NV1 clearance (NV2 eligibility preferred)
  • Defence project experience within ICT, engineering, or technology integration environments
  • Relevant certifications (MCSA, MCSE, VMware VCP, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting Deployable Information Environments (DIE)
  • Strong Windows Server experience
  • Solid skills in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • VMware virtualisation experience
  • Strong understanding of secure ICT environments (ISM, DSPF, PSPF)
  • Hands-on troubleshooting, patching, and performance tuning skills
  • Ability to operate in high-pressure, secure environments
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Wintel / ICT engineering
